HOLY CR*P!! This is a STELLAR, below-the-radar (for many, anyway) highpoint in Buddy Guy's recorded output! Not originally released on vinyl (since vinyl LPs hadn't made a comeback yet), this was a long awaited addition to the vinyl record pantheon. Recorded at Sweet Tea Studio (hence the album title) in Oxford, Mississippi, the studio owner installed a bit of a bar, so Buddy could have a shot before firing up his guitar... and hired a crack team of Mississippi musicians (including Jimbo Mathus) to back the legend on a soundtrack of mostly Fat Possum Records 1990s modern blues classics by T-Model Ford, Cedell Davis and others. Starts with a front porch acoustic number... before Buddy and the band hit lift-off. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for fans of Buddy, Fat Possum and/or electric blues guitar.
