JUKE JOINT AND EVENT DIRECTIONS:

- PO MONKEY'S LOUNGE, NEAR MERIGOLD, MS: From Clarksdale, take Hwy 61 South 30 miles to Pemble Road and turn RIGHT. Note that the green Pemble Road street sign is missing, so look for Dollar General on left side of highway and a brown "Blues Trail" sign on right as well as as a "Pemble Farms" sign in field at turn-off. [If you miss the turn off and get to LEFThand "Merigold" exit, you've gone too far. In that case, turn around and take what will then be your SECOND left. Then...]. After making turn onto Pemble Road, take immediate left fork in the road which is gravel. [That's Po Monkey Road, but that sign is also missing!] The juke is approx. 1 1/4 mile down on left. 662-748-2254 or 662-514-7488.

- DO DROP INN JUKE JOINT IN SHELBY, MS: From Clarksdale, take hwy 61 south 25 min or so to Shelby exit. Take exit, and drive to stoplight. Turn right and cross the tracks. Take second left and park across from club.

- OTHA TURNER MEMORIAL PICNIC, SENATOBIA, MS: Get off of I-55 on the Senatobia exit and turn away from town down Highway 4. Go approximately three Miles down that road to Gravel Springs Road (the second road to the right on 4 from Senatobia). Turn right on Gravel Springs Road. Go to the second 4-way stop and turn left (that road is OB McClinton Road) Follow that road about a half mile and the Turner's Picnic is on the right there will be lots of cars & people gathered there. Park along the side of the road. -- Directions courtesy Blues Mother Tupelo.

A blues great and a great man has passed… JAMES "T-MODEL" FORD... R.I.P.
The self-proclaimed "Ladies Man" and "Taledragger" passed away after a long illness at home in Greenville, Mississippi, on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, surrounding by his loving wife and family. Funeral arrangements are below. Btw, the family wants to clear up any questions about T-Model's actual birth year. They say his birth certificate lists 1921. (T just celebrated his birthday last month with a big blues yard party, by the way.).
Because T-Model hadn’t been able to play music for about a year, the family is asking for donations, please consider donating towards the funeral expenses using the bank information below (per his widow, Miss Estella Ford).
T-Model Ford held a special place for his many friends, fans and family. He was a one-of-a-kind blues character, and anyone who ever met him has some amazing and/or ridiculous tale to tell. Thank you T for everything. You made this world a much richer place, and I will always treasure the times you allowed me to hang with you at home and on the road. This marks the end of an era in Mississippi blues. Hey T, please go easy on the house band upstairs… as you (as you once declared) play "in the key of my woman left me." R.I.P. and here's to you… It is now and forever "Jack Daniels Time!"

VISITATION is Friday, July 26 at Redmond Funeral Home located at 442 N. Broadway, Greenville, MS 38701 (662-335-8116) from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.

FUNDRAISER for the funeral will be held at T-Model's house at 216 N Delta, Greenville, MS 38703, starting at 3:30 PM.

FUNERAL services for James Lewis Carter "T-Model" Ford will be held at the Washington County Convention Center at 1040 S Raceway Rd Greenville, MS 38703 (662-332-0488), Saturday July 27 starting at 11:00 AM with a repast for the family following.
